Print-Ready Basics

What Your Artwork Should Include

If you already have a designer, share these points with them. If you are unsure, send what you have and we’ll help you understand what may need fixing.

📁

Accepted File Formats

Preferred formats include AI, PDF, EPS, PSD, and high-quality print-ready files. Avoid sending low-resolution screenshots for final production.

🎨

Use CMYK Colour Mode

Packaging artwork should be prepared in CMYK for print. RGB colours can shift during printing and may look different from your screen.

🖼️

300 DPI Resolution

Images, logos, and graphics should be at least 300 DPI. Blurry or pixelated files can affect the final packaging quality.

✂️

Add Bleed Area

Bleed extends artwork beyond the cut line so the final box edges print cleanly. A common bleed setup is 3mm, but requirements may vary.

📏

Keep Text in Safe Area

Important text, logos, barcodes, and product details should stay inside the safe zone to avoid trimming during cutting and folding.

🔤

Outline Your Fonts

Convert fonts to outlines before sending artwork. This prevents font replacement issues and keeps your text layout consistent.

Important

Things That Often Cause Print Delays

Most artwork problems are small, but they can slow down quoting, proofing, and production. Checking these points early saves time.

Low-quality logos

Use vector logo files where possible. Small PNG or JPG logos may print poorly.

No dieline included

Packaging artwork should follow the correct dieline so panels, folds, and glue areas line up properly.

Missing bleed

Artwork without bleed can leave unwanted white edges after trimming.

Unclear barcode placement

Barcodes should be high resolution and placed where scanning is practical.

Artwork FAQs

Common Artwork Questions

Can I send artwork made in Canva?

Yes, you can share it for review. For production, a high-quality PDF with correct size, bleed, and print settings is usually preferred.

What if I do not have artwork yet?

You can still request a quote. Share your product details, logo, and basic idea, and we’ll guide you on what is needed next.

Do I need a dieline?

A dieline is strongly recommended because it shows cut lines, fold lines, panels, and glue areas for the box structure.

Can I send large artwork files?

Yes. For large files, use Google Drive, Dropbox, or WeTransfer and share the link through the quote form or email.
